Choosing Your Plan

BookBooster gives authors access to different marketing tools, but not every tool is covered by the same billing plan. Before choosing a plan, decide which part of the platform you want to use: EmailBoost, SocialBoost, or both.

Main service areas

  • EmailBoost: reader lists, email campaigns, signup forms, automations, templates and email reports.
  • SocialBoost: social media scheduling, queues, content management, social campaigns and social reporting.

How to choose

  • Choose EmailBoost if your main goal is building and emailing your reader list.
  • Choose SocialBoost if your main goal is scheduling and managing social media content.
  • Use both if you want a joined-up author marketing setup covering email and social media.

Things to know

  • EmailBoost and SocialBoost are separate tools.
  • Each tool may have its own plan, allowance, billing cycle or payment setup.
  • Adding one service does not automatically mean the other is included.
  • Check your account area for the current plans and limits available to you.

BookBooster Author Tip: If A. Pen is just starting out, EmailBoost may be the first priority because reader lists are a long-term author asset. SocialBoost can then support regular visibility and launch promotion.

EmailBoost and SocialBoost Billing

EmailBoost and SocialBoost are charged separately. This means your EmailBoost plan covers email marketing features, while your SocialBoost plan covers social media and campaign-management features.

EmailBoost billing may relate to

  • Number of contacts.
  • Monthly email sends.
  • Email campaigns.
  • Signup forms, landing pages or popups.
  • Automations.
  • Email templates and reports.

SocialBoost billing may relate to

  • Connected social profiles.
  • Scheduled posts.
  • Social queues and calendars.
  • Media or content library use.
  • Social campaigns.
  • Social reporting.

Why they are billed separately

Email marketing and social media scheduling use different systems, features and usage limits. Separating billing makes it clearer which service you are paying for and allows authors to choose the tools they actually need.

Things to check in your account

  • Whether you have an active EmailBoost plan.
  • Whether you have an active SocialBoost plan.
  • The renewal date for each service.
  • The payment method used for each service.
  • Any limits or usage allowances attached to each service.

BookBooster Author Tip: If you only want newsletters, you may not need SocialBoost immediately. If you only want social scheduling, you may not need EmailBoost immediately. You can choose the combination that fits your current marketing plan.

Managing Your Billing

Your billing area is where you review payment details, plan status, renewal dates and invoices. Because EmailBoost and SocialBoost are billed separately, check the billing details for each service you use.

What you may be able to manage

  • Payment method.
  • Billing address.
  • Invoices or receipts.
  • Plan status.
  • Renewal dates.
  • Subscription changes.
  • Service-specific billing for EmailBoost or SocialBoost.

How billing management usually works

  1. Log in to your BookBooster account.
  2. Open your account or billing settings.
  3. Choose the service you want to review, such as EmailBoost or SocialBoost.
  4. Review your current plan and billing details.
  5. Update payment or billing information if needed.
  6. Save your changes.

Things to know

  • Updating billing for one service may not update billing for the other.
  • Invoices may be listed separately for EmailBoost and SocialBoost.
  • Failed payments may affect access to the related service.
  • Keep billing emails monitored so you do not miss renewal or payment notices.

BookBooster Author Tip: If A. Pen uses both EmailBoost and SocialBoost, it is worth checking both billing areas before a launch so there are no payment interruptions during campaign week.

Contact and Send Limits

Contact and send limits apply to EmailBoost. They control how many contacts you can store and how many emails you can send during a billing period or plan allowance.

What contact limits mean

A contact limit is the number of reader contacts your EmailBoost plan allows you to store or actively use. If your list grows beyond the limit, you may need to upgrade or clean your list.

What send limits mean

A send limit is the number of emails your EmailBoost plan allows you to send during a set period. One campaign sent to 1,000 contacts usually counts as 1,000 sends.

What affects usage

  • Number of contacts on your list.
  • Number of campaigns you send.
  • Size of each campaign audience.
  • Automated emails.
  • Resends or follow-up campaigns.

Things to know

  • SocialBoost does not use email contact/send limits in the same way.
  • Inactive or unengaged contacts may still count toward contact limits depending on your plan.
  • Regular list hygiene can help you stay within limits.
  • Large launch campaigns may use more sends than regular newsletters.

BookBooster Author Tip: Before a big launch, check your EmailBoost send allowance. A preorder email, release-day email and follow-up reminder can use more sends than expected if your list is growing.

Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan

You may need to change your plan as your author business changes. For example, your EmailBoost plan may need to grow as your reader list grows, while your SocialBoost plan may change depending on how many social profiles or scheduling features you use.

When to upgrade

  • Your reader list exceeds your EmailBoost contact limit.
  • You need more monthly email sends.
  • You need additional EmailBoost features.
  • You need more SocialBoost scheduling or campaign features.
  • You are preparing for a major launch and need more capacity.

When to downgrade

  • You are using fewer features than expected.
  • Your list or campaign volume is smaller than planned.
  • You are pausing one service but keeping another.
  • You want to reduce costs between launches.

How plan changes usually work

  1. Open your billing or plan settings.
  2. Select the service you want to change: EmailBoost or SocialBoost.
  3. Review available plans.
  4. Choose the new plan.
  5. Check any billing changes before confirming.
  6. Save or confirm the change.

Things to know

  • Changing EmailBoost does not automatically change SocialBoost.
  • Changing SocialBoost does not automatically change EmailBoost.
  • Plan changes may affect billing immediately or at the next renewal depending on your account terms.
  • Downgrading may reduce access to features, limits or stored usage.

BookBooster Author Tip: Do not downgrade right before a launch unless you are sure your campaigns, automations and scheduled posts will still fit within the new limits.

Free Plan Limits

Some BookBooster services may offer free or starter-level access, but free access usually includes limits. These limits may be different for EmailBoost and SocialBoost.

EmailBoost free or starter limits may include

  • Maximum number of contacts.
  • Maximum monthly email sends.
  • Limited access to automations or templates.
  • Limited forms, landing pages or reporting features.

SocialBoost free or starter limits may include

  • Limited connected social profiles.
  • Limited scheduled posts.
  • Limited queues or calendars.
  • Limited social campaign features.
  • Limited reporting.

Things to know

  • Free EmailBoost access does not automatically mean free SocialBoost access.
  • Free SocialBoost access does not automatically mean free EmailBoost access.
  • Limits can change, so always check the current plan details inside your account.
  • If you reach a limit, you may need to upgrade before sending, scheduling or adding more contacts.

BookBooster Author Tip: Free access is useful for getting started, but launch activity can grow quickly. If A. Pen is planning a release campaign, they should check limits before loading contacts, creating automations or scheduling posts.
